A lot of my art depicts the loss of innocence after war. For this piece I had a 10 year old paint on my ceramic figure. My piece represents a disfigured soldier, but to a 10 year old it's just a fun piece to paint on. The child never questioned why the figure is shaped the way it is, and reffered to it as male. She decided to paint his face flesh color. This is the innocence in all of us as a child, and a little of that stays with us throughout life. For many soldiers, this innocence is taken away more quickly during wartime.
